Community Living Hamilton is offering virtual recreation and leisure programs free of charge to all persons with developmental disabilities aged 18 and over. Activities are designed and organized to focus on community participation, social interaction, and skill development.

Registration is now open for our Fall Session programs, which run for 11 weeks from October 4 to December 17, 2021. To sign up for for programming, please complete the REGISTRATION FORM. Participants are welcomed and encouraged to register for as many activities as they wish that are of interest to them!

Available programs will run on a weekly schedule and include a wide spectrum of recreational, educational and wellness-based activities, as well as life skills training. These programs will be offered at various times throughout the day Monday through Thursday.

To participate, registrants must have access to an electronic device such as a laptop, tablet, smartphone, as well as internet connectivity as programs will be offered in an online virtual format.

All programming information and any necessary materials will be provided via email and/or mail. Please note: Registration is free, however a small fee to cover the cost of materials may be charged for certain activities or you may purchase these separately.

Fall Session Schedule – October 4-December 17, 2021

Mondays
9:00-9:30 am – Good Morning:  Start the morning off right. while connecting with friends and discussing what the day will bring. Supplies:  None needed
10:30-11:30 am – Seated Yoga:  A gentler form of Yoga, completed while seated.  Supplies:  A comfortable chair
2:00-3:00 pm – I ♥ Hamilton: There has never been a better time to explore Hamilton (virtually).  Fall in love with our City all over again. Supplies:  None needed

Tuesdays
2:00-3:00 pm – Dance Floor: Make your way around the dance floor as we listen to your favourite songs. Supplies: Comfortable shoes and a dance space.
6:00-7:00 pm – Once Upon a Time: Use your imagination, make connections and share as you listen to stories being read aloud. Supplies: None needed.

Wednesdays
9:00-9:30 am – Good Morning:  Start the morning off right. while connecting with friends and discussing what the day will bring. Supplies:  None needed
10:30-11:30 am – It’s All Fun and Games: Enjoy some friendly competition while we explore different games. (Trivia, Bingo and Pictionary etc.). Supplies: You will be notified of items you need the week before the program.
2:00-3:00 pm – Sit & Fit: A low impact exercise program that can be done from the comfort of your chair. Supplies: A comfortable chair, optional: light weights

Thursdays
2:00-3:00 pm – Social Academy: Practice skills use to navigate relationships, emotions, and the world around us. Supplies: None needed
6:00-7:00 pm – Mind, Body and Soul: Come discover wellness! Improving not only your physical health but also your mental well-being. Supplies: None need

Fridays
9:00-9:30 am – Good Morning:  Start the morning off right. while connecting with friends and discussing what the day will bring. Supplies:  None needed
10:30-11:30 am – Get Up and Move: A more active fitness program that includes standing and seated exercises. Supplies: Chair, elastic band, medium size ball, light weights.
2:00-3:00 pm – Around the World: Explore other nations, countries and cities. Learn a new language, check out a yummy recipe and do a tour of the location. Supplies: None needed.
