Registration is now open for our Spring Session programs, which run for 13 weeks from April 4, 2022  to June 30, 2022.

Community Living Hamilton is offering virtual recreation and leisure programs free of charge to all persons with developmental disabilities aged 18 and over. Activities are designed and organized to focus on community participation, social interaction, and skill development.

To sign up for for programming, please complete the REGISTRATION FORM. Participants are welcomed and encouraged to register for as many activities as they wish that are of interest to them!

Available programs will run on a weekly schedule and include a wide spectrum of recreational, educational and wellness-based activities, as well as life skills training. These programs will be offered at various times throughout the day Monday through Friday.

To participate, registrants must have access to an electronic device such as a laptop, tablet, smartphone, as well as internet connectivity as programs will be offered in an online virtual format.

All programming information and any necessary materials will be provided via email and/or mail. Please note: Registration is free, however a small fee to cover the cost of materials may be charged for certain activities or you may purchase these separately.

Spring Session Schedule – April 4, 2022  to June 30, 2022

Mondays
9:00-9:30 am – Good Morning: Start the morning off right!  Connect with friends and have lively discussion about what the day will bring. Supplies:  None needed
10:00-11:00 am – Around the World: Explore other nations, countries and cities. Learn a new language, check out a yummy recipe and do a tour of the location. Supplies: None needed. 
2:00-3:00 pm – Walk Your Way to Fitness: This walking program encourages you to get your feet moving but can be modified for those who prefer to be seated. Supplies: comfortable shoes

Tuesdays
9:00-9:30 am -Good Morning: Start the morning off right!  Connect with friends and have lively discussion about what the day will bring. Supplies:  None needed
2:00-3:00 pm – Karaoke:  Fulfill your dream of performing, by singing along to your favourite songs. Supplies: None needed
6:00-7:00 pm – Social Academy: Practice skills use to navigate relationships, emotions, and the world around us. Supplies: None needed Animal Kingdom:  A combination of virtual tours of zoos around the world and learning about the animals that live there. Supplies:  None needed

Wednesdays
9:00-9:30 am -Good Morning: Start the morning off right!  Connect with friends and have lively discussion about what the day will bring. Supplies:  None needed
2:00-3:00 pm – A It’s All Fun and Games: Enjoy some friendly competition while we explore different games. (Trivia, Bingo and Pictionary etc.). Supplies: You will be notified of items you need the week before the program. Bingo card and pictures will be sent out upon registration, so you can complete your card ahead of time.
6:00-7:00 pm – Get Up and Move: A more active fitness program that includes standing and seated exercises. Supplies: Chair, elastic band, medium size ball, light weights. 

Thursdays
9:00-9:30 am -Good Morning: Start the morning off right!  Connect with friends and have lively discussion about what the day will bring. Supplies:  None needed
10:00-11:00 am – Draw a Story: Listen to a story or poem then use a step by step tutorials to learning to draw a character from the story. Supplies: pencil, eraser, a sketch book (available at the dollar store), pencil crayons/markers or paper
2:00-3:00 pm – It’s a Stranger Animal: Learn about strange animals that inhabit our earth. Supplies: None needed

Fridays
9:00-9:30 am -Good Morning: Start the morning off right!  Connect with friends and have lively discussion about what the day will bring. Supplies:  None needed
10:00-11:00 am – Mind, Body and Soul: Come discover wellness! Improving not only your physical health but also your mental well-being. Supplies: None needed
2:00-3:00 pm – Dance Floor: Make your way around the dance floor as we listen to your favourite songs. Supplies: Comfortable shoes and a dance space.
