Summer Student (6) – Dragonfly Lodge

Community Living Hamilton serves people with special needs by providing them with opportunities and support so they can achieve their goals. We deliver and facilitate support services that ensure they are integrated into the community and able to build great lives.

We are looking to hire Six (6) Summer students to work at Dragonfly Lodge.

Dragonfly Lodge, located in Rockwood, ON, on the grounds of Camp Brebeuf, is a respite program for adults that are currently supported through Community Living Hamilton. Six clients vacation together and choose the activities they want to do while at the cottage. Activities can include day trips, swimming at the lake and local attractions.

The ideal candidates we are looking for, are people who are currently educated in the Human Services Field (i.e. DSW, SSW, Recreation & Leisure, etc.) and have experience working with individuals with disabilities, or in a camp/recreational setting.

A valid driver’s license is mandatory.

The season runs for approximately 14 weeks, starting in June until the end of August.

Weekly Sessions run Monday through Friday and Weekend Sessions run Friday through Sunday.

Please Note: The positions at Dragonfly Lodge fall under the definition of Residential Care Worker under the Employment Standards Act 2000.

Residential Care Workers are paid the actual hours of work for the day to a maximum of fifteen (15) hours per day.
